Buyers Guide

As a buyer at Re-Offer.com you have a chance to purchase a lot which may have previously gone through a sales ring ‘unsold’ or which has not previously been offered for a sale at public auction. You may not have initially realised that a lot was a ‘vendor buy back’ and if you did know this you may have subsequently assumed that the lot was sold privately after the sale. Regardless, once you see that the horse has been listed on Re-Offer.com you now know with certainty that it is for sale and that it is on the market. You now have a fantastic opportunity to consider buying this lot and the chances are that the horse has been listed by the vendor with a competitive reserve.

How do I bid and buy a horse listed on Re-Offer.com?

Once you have seen a horse listed on Re-Offer.com which you are interested in buying you must register as a ‘buyer’ before you will be allowed to bid. Registration is simple and all that you need to do is complete the on-line registration form which is easily accessible on site. Once you have submitted your registration you must wait for your registration to ‘be approved’. If you are a buyer who is known to us then your ‘approval’ will be confirmed almost immediately. You will know that you have been approved as a buyer in two ways. The next time you log into the site as a user you will see the ‘approved buyer’ symbol and in addition, your approval as a buyer will be notified to you by email. Where appropriate your approval will include a ‘limit’ and it is to the value of this limit that you will be able to bid on any on-line lots.

How do I bid?

Once you have been ‘approved’ as a buyer on Re-Offer.com you can place a bid by clicking on the ‘bid now’ icon found with the listing of each horse. You can also decide if your identity as a bidder is to be anonymous or if your identity can be revealed to the vendor and other buyers. It’s your choice. If you have been outbid immediately then you will be notified immediately on the screen as soon as your bid has been placed. If your bid is the highest bid at that time then you will receive an email confirmation. If your successful bid is subsequently beaten by another buyer you will receive an email notification that you have been outbid. This will alert you to log on and bid again. As the auction nears its end you are encouraged to remain logged onto the site so that you are tracking your bids in real time since once the auction ends the highest bidder will have the right to buy the horse in question. You can also track the horses on which you are bidding via the ‘tracking’ facility on-line.
